Belize E-Invoicing Compliance
Every invoice, credit note, and tax receipt must reach BTS correctly. TechForge helps Belizean businesses meet electronic fiscal document requirements while keeping the accounting software they already use.

The BTS compliance challenge
Under the Electronic Fiscal Document Requirement (EFDR), businesses in Belize must transmit fiscal documents to the Belize Tax Service, and getting it wrong creates real compliance risk.
- Format every fiscal document as BTS-compliant UBL XML; strict schema rules reject even small formatting errors.
- Digitally sign each document with a XAdES electronic signature tied to a government-issued certificate.
- Transmit over an authenticated, encrypted mutual-TLS channel directly to BTS infrastructure.
- Track every submission through authorization, rejection, or retry, and operate in contingency mode when BTS or the network is unreachable.
- Maintain this reliably as an ongoing cost of doing business, not a one-time IT project.
How TechForge helps
Behind the scenes, our BTS ETD Middleware is purpose-built compliance infrastructure delivered as a service. Your team sends a simple request; we handle everything BTS requires.
BTS ETD Middleware
Send
Your accounting system or ERP submits invoice, credit note, debit note, or tax receipt data.
Build & Sign
We generate compliant UBL XML, assign the required document identifier, and apply a XAdES electronic signature.
Transmit
The signed document is submitted to BTS over a secured channel to the correct test or production environment.
Track
BTS responses update your document status in real time: authorized, rejected, or queued for automatic retry.
Report
Your finance team can search, filter, and export submission history for accounting and audit purposes.
Works with your existing systems
TechForge integrates with the accounting and ERP platforms Belizean businesses already rely on.
Keep Your Existing Accounting Software
TechForge connects your current accounting or ERP system to BTS without replacing your workflows. No need to become XML and cryptography experts; we handle the government integration so you can keep issuing invoices from the tools your team already knows.
Who this is for
Any Belizean business required to comply with BTS EFDR, and the advisors who support them.
ETD Portal
Ready to get started?
Log in to submit documents, check authorization status, and manage your taxpayer certificate. New to the portal? Complete these two steps first.
Get your digital certificate
Request your taxpayer digital certificate from the Belize Tax Service. BTS requires this certificate to authorize and sign your electronic documents.
Register in our portal
Create your TechForge ETD Portal account and upload your certificate to activate document submissions.
Two ways to integrate
Once you're registered, connect your invoicing system using the option that matches how your software is built.
PrintFlow App
Legacy & closed-source systems
Can't modify the code or install a plugin? PrintFlow captures your existing print output and files it with BTS on your behalf, no changes to your system required. Examples: QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks POS, Odoo Online, and other desktop software.
Direct API
Modern apps & custom software
Building your own source code, or using software that supports plugins or APIs? Call our API directly to submit documents and receive authorization in real time. Examples: Odoo (Community and Enterprise only) and custom applications.
Both the PrintFlow app and the API specification document are available for download inside the ETD Portal.
Simple, usage-based pricing
Pay only for documents submitted to production, priced by the value of the document.
| Document value (BZD) | PrintFlow | Direct API |
|---|---|---|
| $0.01 – $99.99 | 0.10¢ | 0.05¢ |
| $100 – $499.99 | 0.20¢ | 0.10¢ |
| $500 – $999.99 | 0.30¢ | 0.15¢ |
| $1,000+ | 0.40¢ | 0.20¢ |
All charges shown in Belize Dollar cents (BZD).
Direct API integrations always get a 50% discount versus PrintFlow.
